We might be celebrating Love on the Mountain with Steve Hofmeyr this Friday, but Jacques and Hester Barnard beat us to it when they exchanged wedding vows at the top of Harties last weekend.

An aerial cableway is known by a different name in countries across the world.  Also called an aerial tramway, a cable car, a ropeway or an aerial tram, this lift system by definition uses one or two ropes for support and another rope for propulsion to propel a cable car (or cabin) from one end of the line to another.

The Hartbeespoort Aerial Cableway, once a top visitor attraction for overseas travellers and a firm favourite among “Harties” residents, has reopened its doors to the public.
