Miss & Mr Hartbeespoort
Harties Cableway was abuzz with glitz, glamour and excitement on 25 March 2017, for the inaugural Miss & Mr Hartbeespoort pageant.
The event got off to a great start, with glamorous outfits and celebrities, and the spectacular crop of young men and women putting their best foot forward.
The aim of Miss & Mr Hartbeespoort is to be more than just a pageant, but an empowering programme for young men and women. It was organised by Mrs Lorna Greyling – the reigning Mrs Africa Hemisphere, and who has over 20 years’ experience in the beauty industry – in partnership with Dignity Dreams, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) that empowers young women by providing school shoes, information regarding menstrual health and reusable sanitary pads.
Some of the judges for the night were Mrs Riana Mooi (Mrs Globe 2015), Mr Wayne Stafford (Mr South Africa Bachelor 2015) and, of course, Mrs Greyling. The most deserving contestants – Miss Jene Jansen van Vuuren and Mr Conor de Waal – were crowned Miss & Mr Hartbeespoort.
