Hartbeespoort Dam Aquarium

Experience the beauty of aquatic life, including freshwater and tropical fish, along with other creatures such as crocodiles (Nile, slender-snouted and dwarfcrocodiles, all indigenous to Africa), pelicans, seals, penguins and more.

Weekends feature pelican, seal, penguin and crocodile shows, which are ideal for the entire family. Take a piece of nature home by visiting the pet shop, which complements the aquarium.

Hennops MBT Trail

Get your adrenaline going at the Hennops MBT Trail, the ultimate mountain-biking trail, and located just 30km from Sandton and Pretoria. Covering over 15km, the route provides for all levels of difficulty, as there are many “escape” routes for those who would enjoy a slightly less energetic experience.

The venue has a swimming pool as well as braai (barbeque) facilities, which is the ideal way to relax after an action-packed ride. Be sure to bring along anything you will need in terms of catering, as the venue does not have a shop yet.

Where: located west of the R511, between the N14 (Krugersdorp highway) and R104 (Church Street exit) four-way stop, at the Hennops Picnic Spot and Hiking Trail.
