It’s all in the details

From the moment you arrive at Aerial Cableway Hartbeespoort (Harties Cableway), it is evident that not even the smallest aspect has been overlooked. The bottom station’s huge, arched windows lend a quaint, old-fashioned European feel to the building, and a glance into the station reveals the massive mechanics of the cableway, which has been finished in a glossy green. Even the banal workings of the cableway have been turned into an object of beauty.

Elmie Botha of Harties Cableway says, “What I really love about this place is the detail, there’s no skimping.”

And there really are creative and subtle touches everywhere. Even objects such as the outdoor benches are pieces of art, as well as being furniture. The textures and décor throughout the attraction are evidence of the care and dedication that went into recreating this beautiful space.

It’s not only the aesthetics that have been created to perfection; the cableway itself was designed by Rowema, a Swiss company. It underwent 500 hours of testing and complies with the Canadian Standards Association specifications.
