The winter school holidays provide a great opportunity for the little ones to rest ... but eventually you might find yourself struggling to keep them occupied. Why not take them on a trip or few day’s holiday to Harties for some fun and a bit of giving back?

There is a variety of activities to enjoy at Harties Cableway and the surrounding area to keep the whole family entertained. Here are a few:

Harties Cableway

This is a fun activity for families when in Harties. Take the cable car the top of the the Magaliesberg mountain and enjoy the stunning views and even have a picnic. The little ones can also play at the Kidzone play. This is a fun activity for families when in Harties. You’ll pay only R120 for four to 14-year-olds, and younger children can ride for free.

After having fun on the mountain, the kids might be hungry. Fortunately, there are several options available. The express restaurant at the top can help keep growling tummies at bay with a few snacks, while  for a heartier meal, the whole family can enjoy a range of __ on the menu from Hero’s Cableway Grillhouse & Pizzeria at the base station, including pizzas, burgers and sandwiches.

Our curio shops make sure children will have something to remember the cableway by. The Little Shop at the Top and others on the premises stock toys, ornaments and cool clothing.

If you are looking to spend even more time with animals and be able to do some good, pop into the Hartbeespoort Animal Welfare Society (HAWS). HAWS is dedicated to taking care of abandoned and abused animals.

Visitors can help with things as simple as spending time with the animals, helping bathe them or helping clean kennels, which is a fun way of giving back. Another way to help is to bring supplies such as animal food or any equipment that may be needed. The whole experience can be very fulfilling and will be a great memory for the children as well.
